I need Antler Queen Shauna expeditiously. Dictator Shauna arc would be peak TV. She’s already got a little base of support with Misty feeding her the info and Melissa. Turning the others at the right moment with the revelation about Nat hiding Ben and plus she can kill Mari by spinning as her selling out and not being with the group.

Very plausible theory. Leaning toward probable to me

  • Really enjoyed the first season of this, haven’t enjoyed the second and third as much.

letting Jackie die out of pettiness legit bummed me out

I got the impression everyone assumed someone else would eventually help her and then everyone (including Jackie) just fell asleep.

  • Not surprised they killed off Adult Nat. Juliette Lewis definitely seemed like she was running out of steam in season 2.

Only one episode in on season 3 but I’m finding myself instantly bored with where the 90s storyline is going. Intrigued to see what’s on the tape that Callie found in the mail, but after how blah most of Adult Lottie’s story ended up being I no longer really trust this show to deliver on the mysteries it presents.

Also hate that they’re choosing to market it by announcing when a new actor has been cast as the adult version of a girl we weren’t sure survived the wilderness yet? “Let’s try and pique the interest of people who aren’t watching by ruining something kind of crucial for the people who are! F*** it!”

Will be watching tonight and giving thoughts

    Ok, finally watched.

The Mari and Coach Ben scene in the cave was funny. Spraying themselves was great. Having the heart to heart was endearing too. Coach has been through a good deal there and that add. moment of vulnerability telegraphs his imminent death but I think they'll do something differently.

Callie/Shauna/Lottie/Misty- All around pretty good. Shauna spared a real crash on Lottie. I feel like that's coming in the next two episodes to mirror what I think will happen very soon in the Wilderness. Lottie lowkey MVP of the season. Interested to see what they do with her and her intrusion on Shauna's kid like she did with the baby. Misty from the preview of episode 4 has linked up with Taissa and appears to be on a spree to ensure Van's health. Very interesting Happy they didn't mull around with Misty realizing that her friends were not there for her as she is for them.

Shauna/Nat Dynamic- Shauna continues to outmaneuver Nat in the power play. Trying to validate Mari and be supportive of her is a feign. She doesn't want to give Nat an asset. The coup is coming, I think after Nat tries to let Coach Ben off easy with a basic holding sentence. Shauna might use it to immediately wrestle power in epi 5 and then enact a harsher punishment on Ben. I have 2 thoughts on what they'll do with him. Either Shauna will do some horrible thing to him and then plan to eat him in the winter or they'll kill him right now and let all hell break loose. I could go either way

Cave Dreams- Akilah dream was weird, but not bad I think. It will contextualize itself later. Van and Shauna dreams were great though. The "shared" dream I do think was from Shauna's perspective, but I think the show fused some elements of what Akilah might have saw when Lottie told her to save Shauna. Great to see Jackie again.

Akilah talking to the llama was inspired by Tony talking to the fish in the Sopranos. Created said that and I was actually surprised. Great callback

There’s no new characters really unless you count background characters getting a more prominent role. Walter only new character really but he was last season

i'm mostly talking about Akilah, Gen, Kristen, Melissa, and Robin. most of them had almost no speaking lines until season 3 and a couple of them had the actresses change. it's just made it feel weird whenever i see a new face among this cast of people i know so well. so many important things have happened between these girls that it just throws me off. i'll keep watching and i hope i can get past it
