Magic just came out last month how is that even a comparison, and Daytona not on the same level of TPAB as a classic.

Those albums just hit ya harder, no moment wasted, just straight heat nonstop

yeah s*** not even a month old lol. I wish we would start calling albums "perfect" or sum instead of classic and save classic for albums actually 4 years or older

    It's not that weird

I don't think it's a 10 bc the d*** ain't free song is annoying, there are too many interludes and spoken word transitions that ruin the flow of the album unless you sit in a dark room with a candle or some s***, and some of the lines aren't well written, it's a very strong album tho

This post is very different from "Kendrick doing weird alien voices and reading poems about remembering some conflict"

You can do this for any album? Okay bet, find me positive reactions like this by other artists for Everybody by Logic and The Big Day by Chance. And you have no way of knowing which they prefer between GKMC and TPAB, you're projecting your own opinions onto them. Like I said, anything gets said to "win" an argument on here

Celebs react positively to albums all the time. I’m not wasting my time finding them because I don’t need others to validate my opinion.

You can’t cope with the fact everyone doesn’t think TPAB is the greatest album ever and that’s a personal problem. Good day.

I can find tweets about reactions to any album. I bet none of them have that in their top 5 and I bet most of them prefer GKMC to TPAB

I’d also be willing to bet that most of these people don’t even listen to hip hop primarily

    Which lines?

And the interludes and spoken word aspect are present because it’s conceptually built around a poem. It’s all leading up to the last song. You feeling like they “stop the flow” of the album may be personally how you feel, but that’s not really a valid critique. More like a nitpick.

There are 50 quoted celebrities in that thread. Just did a rough count and at least 30 of them are rappers or hip-hop producers..

It's not even about how you feel about TPAB. You guys are posting things that just isn't true to invalidate the fact that you're in the minority on this one It has to be people who don't listen to hip hop, nobody listens to the album anymore, everyone praises albums like this. And when you get pressed about these things it's "I'm not wasting my time to prove what I just said". Just admit you were talking out of your ass instead of this pretentious pride s***

His paraphrasing is weird and unnatural (no one actually talks like that), the rhyme schemes are good but I feel like he rhymes abstract gibberish just cuz it sounds virtuosic, make it weird to rap along to and I guess that's why people say he doesn't have bars/quotables. I think you can say meaningful stuff in a much more direct, conversational way.

"Fuck your sources, all distortion, if you f*** it's more abortion
    More divorce courts and portion
My check with less endorsement left me dormant
    Dusted, doomed, disgusted, forced with
F*** you think is in more s***?
Porcelain pipes pressure, bust 'em twice
Choice is devastated, decapitated the horseman"

"Life, to me, like a box of chocolate
Quid pro quo, somethin' for somethin', that's the obvious
Oh s***, flow's so sick, don't you swallow it
Bitin' my style, you're salmonella poison positive
I can just alleviate the rap industry politics
Milk the game up, never lactose intolerant
The last remainder of real s***, you know the obvious
Me, scholarship? No, streets put me through colleges"

"Oh, yeah? Puto want to squabble with mi barrio?
Oh, yeah? Tell 'em they can run it for the cardio
Oh, yeah? Everything is everything, it's scandalous
Slow motion for the ambulance, the project filled with cameras
The LAPD gamblin', scramblin', football numbers slanderin'"

Lol the last line reminded me of another line from the album:

"Remember scribblin', scratchin' diligent sentences backwards"

The album is full of this writing style so if you're like me and don't really dig it you're gonna have a problem

Great post and I actually understand this Kendrick does have a weird writing style and he's not as efficient as he could be. And I picked up similar bars on Hol Up/Hiiipower too, he probably gets an idea for a bar and then plays with it until it can fit on different songs
