He thought this was a flex but it's embarrassing. Producers need to unionize if we ever want any real change

some of these rappers too violent to let producers strike and not give ‘em beats

there a lot of amateur producers too unlike actors who don’t care about any of that and will just take whatever cash they’re offered

The producer might actually be stupid as f*** though. If he got an advance, 50 percent pub and 5 master points that's a great deal

  • Jul 30, 2023

To put it in context most of the time unless you're a real popping producer you're normally getting 3-4 percent master points on a song

  • Jul 30, 2023

S*** like this is why I don’t produce no more

    F*** that

  • producers lowkey the biggest reason why musicians never gon strike lol.

5% is standard if you're not a big name or have a great relationship with the artist

maybe someone like Boi-1da, Timbo, Pharrell, Wheezy, can use their name to negotiate something bigger but even for them it's not a huge difference. they have you paying like 20 racks up front for a hot beat though. their main way to eat is not from their share of the song

maybe he didn't get a big advance. if it was a youtube beat or beatstars or something, he probably got like $60 at best.

Ye, still 5 percent with no advance is still pretty cool. He would have made over 5 bands on master points alone. Factor in publishing it's a good lil deal

I’m more surprised YN jay is making 100,000 dollars off just one of his songs….

Man I was just thinking about using my own beats to make Some music but now I’m like man if I can just get a small following I’d be set making way more than I make now

  • Jul 30, 2023

His s*** got 25 million streams is that what that means??

I just checked his Spotify and he has 2mil+ monthly listeners with his Top 5 currents songs each having over 10mil plays each so….yea

  • At least most of these mid rappers also choose mid beats so the producers deserve to be paid crumbs

  • Wheezy should be given a flat fee of 50 cents for every song he produces
Pierre Bourne gets a pat on the back and a hot meal

  • Bro i love how his producers straight up writing on the post saying they only got 5%

The one poster above me is right though, this is what happens when you don't have a big name yet as a producer. 5% is standard in these cases where the artist has a much bigger brand than you.. Sad but true.. In these cases hope they got some money up front for the beat too, but i doubt it. It's a tough world in the music biz unless youre at the top...
