25 Rob49 - 4GOD 2 (he rap like if somebody coached a slow nigga to rap. And I mean that in the most complimentary way. Bruh one of the most unconventional rappers out. He legit don’t rhyme sometimes)

24 Channel Tres - Real Cultural s*** (super short. Would higher if was longer but he really was jamming on this album)

23 Navy Blue - The Ways of Knowing (some of my fav beats I’ve heard him rap over. Budgie did his thing and Navy came through too

22 Wizz Havin - Super Wizz (young Florida rapper. He was sliding on this whole album. This specific song might be my fav on this tape. Bruh was flowing on here)

21 Niontay - Demon Muppy (bruh most of this album make me wanna do the woo tang dance. This song is 2AM pull up on a female music. Niontay really do it all)

20 Liv.e - Girl In The Half Pearl (Liv.e voice is an instrument. Enough said)

19 Robb Banks - I don’t txt back, I don’t call (Robb is in a second renaissance in his career. I’m gonna do something I haven’t done but this song isn’t on this album but is legit one of my fav songs of 2023. This Sango beat is so good and Robb just floats on it perfectly)

18 Babyface Ray - Summers Mine (Detroit rappers still making some of the best rap in 2023. Bruh was in his real hip hop bag with this outro)

17 Little Dragon - Slugs of Love (I’ve played this album so much. They have everything from more bouncy songs on here, to slow songs. Great album)

16 Musiq Soulchild & Hitboy - Victims & Villains (bruh I did not expect to love this so much. Hitboy did his thing with this but Musiq Soulchild was singing his ass off on here. Some good conceptual R&B songs on here too.)

15 Tinashe - BB/Ang3l (literally only thing I knew about her was 2on and she licked that tiny toilet seat. So I didn’t know what to expect but I get why people say she should be bigger. That tiny toilet seat photographer need his ass beat)

14 Lucki - S***Money & D**** (bruh had the hardest junkie bar of the year. Nigga said “I’m a real deal junkie and a business man, I sealed the deal with the seal in hand)

13 Brent Faiyaz - Larger Than Life (bruh was restoring the feeling with this tape. Me and this nigga still prolly got the same singing chops in a live performance but that don’t matter because that engineer be mixing the s*** out his vocals.)

12 Shame - Food for Worms (I’m deep in my white boy bag wit these next 4 picks but this album is so good. It’s ballads on here, punk stuff, classic rock, and it all hits)

11 Jack Harlow - Jackman (aye man, I know people don’t like bruh but I fw bruh. Very enjoyable album)

10 King Krule - Space Heavy (Archibald has done it again)

9 Jeff Rosenstock - Hellmode (Jeff is legit one of my fav artists of this decade. He has 0 bad albums. He’ll translation from something acoustic to something with a punk feel in the next song and do both sounds flawlessly. Legend)

8 Veeze - Ganger (Even tho he has developed a Huge slur in between albums, this did not disappoint. Bars still in abundance)

7 Noname - Sundial (remember people pretended like Jay Elect ruined this album?)

6 Kelly Moonstone - I Digress (Kelly is like if MC Lyte and Jill Scott had a kid together. She will be rapping her ass off and then go to singing soulfully. And produce the song too. She’s so good and has a bright future)

5 JMSN - Soft Spot (the grooviest white boy out right now. By far. Also his best album to date too. He experimented with so many sounds on here and it all came through as a cohesive listen)

4 Mike - Burning Desire (this is some of his best production. Bruh really levels up every album. I’ve ran out of words to describe MIKE. Amazing artist)

3 Zach Bryan - Zach Bryan (this came out while I had COVID and was my soundtrack through Covid. An amazing country album. Honest lyrics, great singing, some of the catchiest hooks of the year. He came through)

2 Sampha - Lahai (his happiest album yet. Bruh even started rapping on one song. Great to hear him in a happier headspace which lead to an amazing album)

1 Paramore - This is Why (I’ve legit never heard a Paramore song before this. I now understand the hype. Album of the year)

A group of four albums that I enjoyed but didn't get a chance to listen to as much as the others on the list but I did really enjoy them. A sort of honorable mention list but they didn't make the list because I didn't get a chance to play these albums as much as I would have liked to
