It doesn’t matter if he’s been “trying”.

How the f*** you calling out a nigga running to Future for club hits on your first release after also doing the same thing?

because that wasn't kendrick's first club hit

Your logic astounds me, I mean to say it's kinda stupid. Family Ties was a hit and n95 peaked at 3, it was and still is a great song, the nigga been away 5 or so years, what are we doing here

Neither of those career hits or club staples.

He ran to Future to get that

I think they were supposed to have a Collab album before Her Loss was a thing but it got scrapped. Some Drake producer even talked about it in 2023.
    Maybe due to that

I remember this video and I’m pretty sure he just got Baby and 21 mixed up

Being a huge rapper regardless doesn’t mean you still can’t make specific moves to chase success as yall say with Drake LMAO

Drake drops on a Taylor Swift basis man you really can't act like dropping a yearly album of 20+ songs is not a blatant attempt at chasing charts lmao. They are not the same

Midrick called Drake up in 2011 when he wasn't seeing an arena or 100k album sales

Then called Drake up again in 2024 when his last album flopped and singles were getting stale

A full circle moment for the biggest gimmick artist in the world 🫶

‘So when did he hit you to ask if you’d be on the album?

He reached out, I wanna say, after I dropped Section80. He was actually the first person to hear Section80. I gave it to him that night. He was catching a flight somewhere, and I sent it to him through e-mail, and he was just rocking out with it for a minute. Really bigging me up on the project, telling me to keep doing what I’m doing, that it’s amazing. Probably a week after it dropped, he said, I wanna get you on the album. The first time he told me, he said he wanted to get me on a song with The Weeknd. But I don’t know if that song actually made the album. And then after that, a few more conversations, and he finally sent me an instrumental and told me to do what I want on it.’

Looks like drake reached out to him first bro

Drake fans are trying to save face by saying "actually, he was successful before all those guys" when Kendrick's point is that Drake's only way to adapt and stay relevant was by becoming an even more blatant culture vulture

Also you guys are really caught up on overanalyzing the Future line (when clearly Future agrees with it lmao) when there are a number of other lines you need to begin delegitimizing!

Did you listen to the third verse man? Do you need to hear the words "culture vulture" to know what's being discussed?
