Drake is a student of the game and it honestly helps create and inform some of his strongest points as an artist
idk if some have a problem with it,
But since his inception, Drake has essentially used Hip-Hop history as a bunch of unique reference records and I find that fascinating and dope. He (&40, Oliver) is literally an encyclopedia of Hip-Hop when you pierce through his work.
Like using the Biggie flow on Omertà or the Mase s*** on Worst, or the Puff Ode on 4pm, or throwing the Aaliyah line in Bedrock back in the day, the Wu-Tang Ode on Wu-Tang forever,
You can tell he's a student of this Hip-Hop s***.
We can literally do this among 80% of Drake discography and find another artist he bit a flow or melody off of.
And people have the nerve to call him “the goat”.

You can’t praise one and s*** on the other
Pick a side and get off they nuts

You can do this with Hov too.
Whether it was Jaz-O, Sauce Money, Biggie, Beans, Young Chris or even Mach Hommy on the Jay Elec album. It don't matter.
And J Cole is even worse than Drake and Hov but ima leave it there.
