Which decade you choosing? It’s close between the 90s and the 00s but I think 00s takes the cake. Couldn’t imagine hearing Lovers and Friends when it first dropped in that atmosphere

90s hands down euro music in miami an hip hop in the 90s in general

  • Mar 3, 2021

    im definitely going w 2000s

You seen 24 Hour Party People? I know movies are hard for you but that’s literally where my answer is from. It’s a dramatized retelling of Factory Records (Joy Division and New Order’s record label)

The plot synopsis sounds hard as f***. Covers Peter Saville in it too always in for him
I’ll actually try to watch this sometime

    Studio 54 era for sure

If these pictures captivate you than give "Studio 54" by Mark Fleischman a read. Mark was the succeeding owner of Studio 54 after Steve Rubbel and his partner Ian following the late 70s. mark was responsible for Studio 54 in the early 80s.

Book talks about his time running the joint and how insanely hedonistic it was. For example, they had a "Rubber room" upstairs which, as you might imagine, had to be routinely scrubbed down.

It was also the only club of it's kind that allowed for "regular people" to interact with fame. From the early hours on to about 10 P.M, there was a divider between the dance floor and the VIP lounge where folks such as Frank Sinatra, Lou Foregno, Andy Warhol, Calvin Kline and perhaps even the good damn Prince of England would be hanging out. After 10 P.M, the divider would open, and the two would meet. Often both groups were so intoxicated that your social status played no part. Mark mentions how beautiful this was, and it essentially helped many "no bodies" become somebody from developing strong love and companionship with folks such as Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger, that otherwise never would have been possible without a world of d**** and dance.

Anybody who was anybody went to Studio 54. It was an international f***ing requirement and because of media or the push for celebrities to remain sober (or appear as such), there will never be anything like it. Studio 54 was a celebrity in of itself
