This won't work because most ppl asking for a mute do it for performative reasons (protest, drama/attention, virtue signaling, etc). Getting a mute doesn't mean anything if nobody will miss you.

The new feature in the settings will allow you to mute yourself in silence without anybody knowing. There are plenty of personal reasons to do that which go beyond seeking attention from internet strangers.
