People were acting offended when Drake accused MJ of "wanting to be white" as if his appearance was solely the result of his vitiligo and he didn't get cosmetic surgery all over his face to make it look whiter. It's tragic and out of all his controversies probably the least worth mocking him for, but let's not pretend it was a natural biological process

I legit asked my dad about this last month like what did he say and he said it was just typical celeb gossip, said basically the way people talk about Kanye and how he went crazy is how they used to talk about MJ but he said besides the gossip everyone was just like he said people had way less avenues to hear and talk about celebs as much back then so people werent as invested

That makes sense, imagine if social media wasn’t as powerful as it is today, we probably wouldn’t even be talking about MJ right now. Plus there was so much going on that no one really had an interest in finding forums/gossiping about celebs. Everything is much more in your face as opposed to older times.

They were like “oh yea MJ turned white, let’s play his new record.” Like that’s just a natural part of human evolution.
