the voice others hear isn't bad probably, you're just not used to it.

the one you hear yourself is adding the resonance from your cranial bones and tissue. so depending on the structure of your head, it might seem deeper than what it actually is.

I noticed from recordings that I mumble a ton though I really need to speak louder

you dont hear the sound of your voice reverberate in your skull which creates a warmer deeper tone

nobody ever has a bad voice tho nobody should ever worry about that and plus the more you hear it the more you get used to it and learn to love it.
