maybe because they'd be caught off guard with the fact that he's sleeping with trans women and men on the low. he parades himself as a straight male, so obviously his fam would be surprised if he confessed that he was bisexual after all these years. i don't think he's ready for that reaction/backlash from his loved ones and that's why she extorted him for so long and finally "outed" him once he stopped paying.
