just admit u like the beats its not that deep

He’s talented but for some reason he just reminds me of a mid 2010s skit parodying sound cloud carti clones

Uzi Vert has a very cemented fanbase, although they’ve collectively been trying to make him regress post-EA so there’s also that

I went to his subreddit once and saw screenshots of him in a group of weirdo fans telling him not to take medication and make music like his old style

More a commentary on how precarious fame is and how a meteoric rise can be deceptive.

Look at how chance and Roddy were on top of the world as top tier unproblematic heirs to the throne

now their careers are in the gutter while slower burning rappers with smaller fanbases and less industry co-signs outlast them.

not really directed at dissecting the fanbases

YB and Carti might have the sturdyest fan base in hip hop outside of someone like Drake maybe Eminem. I mean definitely Eminem 15-20 years ago not so much these days.

But ya outside of NBA/carti, kodak has a v loyal fan base. As someone who lived in soflo for yaks comeuppance he was the hottest out. Like how much the game loves nipsey is how much soflo fw yak.

Idr think durk fan base is that special. Hoes have always loved Durk I feel like ppl into his type of music are more fans of Chicago genre in general. Like they not specifically riding for durkio but all of them oblock otf mfers in general. I could be wrong fo sho but he also has the most suburban fanbase too.

ALSOOO memes aside yeat is growing a rabid fanbase of his own. Yeat js really going to take a lot of ppl by surprise when he gets his opportunity. Fresh of signing a deal his marketing budget is only Goin up

TLDR the list starts and ends with NBA YB and Carti. They got Hella fan boys. Yak fanbase nothing to sneeze at. Yeat is up next.

    Ayee Broward county checking in

I agree with you on Kodak, seeing it in real time has been crazy.

As far as Durk, I don’t necessarily agree. I say it bc even during his down period his slow songs were still a mainstay among my female friends or women that I would see (girls love the homebody remix). I do think that him catching a second with with his more aggressive style recaptured a lot of his mature fanbase from the early 2010s

And yeah Yeat is capitalizing off his hype and seems to be establishing a cult of personality even if people here think its only memes. Hell, even Coi Leray is copying his style

If young means under 25 the only rappers with a cemented fanbase are

    YB
    Kodak
    Rod Wave
    Trippie Redd

Rest of these guys have to prove they can last for more than a year and a half

A decade in, I wouldn’t consider him one of the newer cats but then again it does feel like he’s caught a 4th wind at this point.

A solid choice. I expect him to have a lengthy career of legacy tours and shows off the strength of his early work alone

Yeah he's reaching into the legacy and rap appreciation fanbase.

Dababy seems to have hit a creative ceiling from what I’ve seen from the past few months

It feels like he was more of a cultural zeitgeist where everything came together perfectly. Beating up haters in the mall, standing up to Atlanta goons on camera, a hit single and music videos that weren’t just a dude standing in a kitchen pointing beams at a camera

It happened so fast that it felt like he never built up that core stan hive
