tbh I see Chicago or Memphis taking over. but Atlanta will always have top-tier artists because Atlanta is a city with a good community to build in and an actual set of pipelines to the successful people in the industry. instead of just hoping you can meet the right people.

As much as I would like to see either of those things happen that’s just not in the realm of possibility any time soon

Memphis’ hottest upcoming star is locked up indefinitely and one of the leading lights of both their community and their rap scene just lost his life

Chicago only really has Durk and Polo, and Durk can come crashing down at any moment with him constantly walking a fine line of f***shit. Sure there’s Kanye but he’s not really trying to build or support a distinctly Chicago music movement at this point in his career. Other than that it’s a lot of legacy acts and wasted potential

Crazy cause no one down here really
    Bump Carti like that.

So if one of the lower tier artist like Carti is a god to Internet niggas ATL really never falling off.

Nudy is cool, but he dropped like 60 tracks this year and his hit rate isn't exactly 100%

nearly everything popping sounds like atlanta, triplet flow is still prelevant, it’s also where the clubs get the most promo for artist. y’all forgetting the way atlanta is where a lot of these artist stay in the mix aswell. that used to be NY and even though you can be anywhere nowadays, rappers would rather move to ATL now

I think most rappers, artists in general, rather move to LA. I've seen too many New York, Houston, Toronto, Chicago, DMV, and s*** even ATL artists move to LA once they "blow up".

influence, production, rapping styles. The fact the person saying this one of the most influential rappers of the new generation.

The fact that now yall talk about "carti" clones?

Kanye knows Carti's name. Atlanta been on top for a while now.

All the three things you named is influence.

So they are the most influential currently? That's a more accurate statement but that doesn't mean they are running rap.

Lil Baby is the biggest rapper

The pendulum always swings. Him saying “never” is indicative that it DEF WILL because his confidence implies they will keep pushing out mid cuz it doesn’t matter, they will “always have it”

Kanye doesn't count. Migos mid. Thugger mid. Lil Baby mid. Lil Yachty count? He went Detroit

I guess you'd have to count Carti from December 2020

    BLACK

niggas said the the same s*** about new york. those breakout artists that everyone fw become established and then the scene dries out and everyone starts to sound the same. it's already happening

The culture in Atlanta and New York are totally different though. NY was built on competition so in the process they didn’t support each other like how Atlanta does.

Atlanta artist will always have support locally and it happens to be “black Hollywood”. Majority of black culture/media is stemmed from there.

I do agree with you on people eventually may get tired of the trap sound, however that doesn’t mean ATL can’t come up with something new.
