I just feel like there used to be a time where the culture was able to come to a general consensus about the quality of a project. Now it feels like that’s impossible
People are way more opinionated and picky about their quirky little preferences lol
As the internet continues to empower the individual it simultaneously destroys cultural continuity
Also think it’s because artists have become more versatile and delve into a variety of sounds. Young Thug has a million voices and flows, raps on many different kinds of beats and has different features
Would be impossible For many people to come to one conclusion on his music

uzi has no idea what makes his music good. he had someone to filter through the rubbish and curate his best tracks back in the day
when DC was out of the picture he just threw s*** at the wall hoping it would stick. 2020 released something like 60 songs, how many were good depends on your POV but i'd mark it at 10-15 MAX.
started previewing EVERYTHING including stupid nostalgia bait like "Finessin Hearts 2". no confidence in what he was making and needed to see a reaction first.

My only criticism is the same one i have with every thug album where like 2 of the song choices are baffling bc thug has the worst taste in his own music.
I would’ve swapped gucci grocery bag for something like Police or I don’t believe or Rosetta Stone if he was gonna put a leak on it.
But overall, this showcases Thug’s strengths extremely well. I was worried it would be ruined by feats like Punk, but the features generally came through. Travis was surprisingly intriguing on Wit Da Racks.
Some of these songs remind me of Slime Season era thug with the melodies, vocals and lyrics that literally only Thug could come up with. See the hook on Hoodie and the lyrics on Hellcat Kenny. I didn’t really have expectations but this beat them by a lot.
