U can tell he crafted a super intimate, indie/alternative influenced album then added a bunch of “safe” songs last minute just to please people

There is a really good project in there somewhere, perhaps the 2019 version was superior to the one we got, but last-minute changes made it a bit of a unfocused bloated mess

Even so, once I got over the initial letdown, I wqs able to enjoy it a lot more, has grown on me a lot this year especially
