why tho some niggas are flipping so bold like this, and it's niggas that USED the lgbtq too

Because it got them the most money

Migos fashion all by gay niggas and even back then still said “I cannot vibe with queers”

Cardi B is literally bi. She just one of those typical bi women that clearly dont tolerate men being bi (it’s a LOTTTTT of those) and/or she just said whatever to jt and uzi cause she hates them considering her mans has had DL accusations for YEARS.

Yeah I know for money and such, but I was talking moreso towards why now all of a sudden, which will also hurt them as it is with Thug (although I do think Cardi will get away with it more, women have more leniency being flip floppy or using lgbtq as a costume than men it seems).

Which added to my musing of niggas getting comfortable with the Trump politics and culture extreme rollbacks on lgbtq even tho they're also trying to do it to black people and are doing it to Spanish people, they don't like ANY of us. So it dumb asl to fall for that culture reversal even moreso if you're brown or black.

But yeah, social optics and political/anthro a***ysis aside, s***s just disgusting to use and discard an entire community like that - and especially someone like Thug who is so OD with it. That and on top of the self hate racist s*** I'm now glad he's getting a backlash.

What is organic about a genre in an era where streams can be botted and payola is rampant?

Payola and botted streams exist in every popular genre. I say hip-hop is among the most organic because rappers blow up in their local area, their local city and then blow up on a national level. Like you have to be loved in your local area to make it to the big leagues. It’s not the same in other genres like pop for example where you’re pretty much chosen by the biggest corporations on earth like Disney, or you’re some nepo baby.

There’s an entire artist that are considered legends just in their local area that are able to make a living off rap. You don’t really see that in other genres at least the genres that are like the most popular like rap country, etc..

I feel the mid 80s was where s*** began to shift.

Public Enemy aint just Chuck D. They had a member who was…let’s be real, a living caricature dawg lmao.

Any goodwill Pac gained in his interviews and beliefs are nullified by how he was living his life in the death row years.

And just…rappers just arent the same as community leaders. Think even a young Chuck D hated that perception during a panel.

    yea i feel you

You don’t think the efforts kept going up through the 90s when it was ultimately compromised? Or you saying those efforts were so minuscule following that era (which you right about btw, them 60s/70s artists are all time legends for a reason…real musical leaders) in comparison to what was happening in the mainstream?

    1. Yeah, thats every genre in its origins. Rock bands even up to the 90s had to drum up buzz in their local scenes to be seen.

    2. Also you a damn lie if that was a true about rap we wouldnt still be talking about plants. Nobody in Atlanta rocks with Raury but still industry tried to shove him in our faces.

no and she’s very outspoken about her support for the community, its affects on her family and herself growing up, it’s just funny she used that as her reasoning in talking s***

Thug is just always been about antics and trolling.

Thats why it’s funny you can tell there are new Thug fans or post SMF Thug fans that arent familiar with his gimmicks.

Bro’s always been gimmicks 1st and music 2nd.

Even BTG had that weird ass trailer that was all bloody and girls fighting and s*** that had nothing to do with the album but just to shock.

Eh his early tapes and the Brick Squad stuff didn’t really rely on gimmicks much

My theory is Lyor Cohen was making him do all that stuff to go viral. I don’t think he ever at any point genuinely liked it.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that as soon as Lyor was out of the picture he stopped

    I think the opposite honestly

  • Went from getting interviewed by Big Bank to Adin Ross. How unfortunate
