I feel the mid 80s was where s*** began to shift.

Yeah I know for money and such, but I was talking moreso towards why now all of a sudden, which will also hurt them as it is with Thug (although I do think Cardi will get away with it more, women have more leniency being flip floppy or using lgbtq as a costume than men it seems).

Which added to my musing of niggas getting comfortable with the Trump politics and culture extreme rollbacks on lgbtq even tho they're also trying to do it to black people and are doing it to Spanish people, they don't like ANY of us. So it dumb asl to fall for that culture reversal even moreso if you're brown or black.

Payola and botted streams exist in every popular genre. I say hip-hop is among the most organic because rappers blow up in their local area, their local city and then blow up on a national level. Like you have to be loved in your local area to make it to the big leagues. It’s not the same in other genres like pop for example where you’re pretty much chosen by the biggest corporations on earth like Disney, or you’re some nepo baby.

There’s an entire artist that are considered legends just in their local area that are able to make a living off rap. You don’t really see that in other genres at least the genres that are like the most popular like rap country, etc..
