what you guys need to understand is when people say this, the song could've sounded literally 10x different from the version we heard... a lot of these songs go through versions and hella ppls hands before

IS YOUR MEMORY F***ED? YOUR BRAIN MUST BE F***ED
Nah I love that mixtape but I’m not talking about fame and popularity.
It seemed like NWTS is the end of a specific kind of drake. That’s all.

DRAKES TAKEN SO LONG ON CLB I WILL NOW MASSIVELY HYPE IT FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS
Lmao it’s amazing how a lot of old fans are still waiting for the proper follow up to NWTS. Nothing since then has ever lived up to it.
i don’t think a better album than nothing was the same has dropped since nothing was the same lol

I'm saying lol and then they say "we just say anything" they need come with the terms that he has more bad projects than good at this point
Feel like it was just one of those songs he recorded for himself but was always going to end up giving to someone else like all the DLDT stuff/Popstar/Greece. Doubt it would have made the final cut of the album.
i’m pretty sure it was recorded during the DLDT sessions. pretty much same producer lineup as Losses, aside from Wheezy, who did the drums on the Gunna & Thug verses, which wouldn’t have been on the CLB version
Didn't Bryson say Outta Time was originally for CLB?
Honestly my hopes are dying down just based on this, LNCL, Greece, Lie To Me and all those other leaks from the last couple years.
Vital and Not Around are the only 2 tracks that were really special and they probably aren't on there
Never around is vital isn’t tho
i don’t think a better album than nothing was the same has dropped since nothing was the same lol
y'all need to listen to more music man
If this was supposed to be for CLB, this album about to be hot garbage
no cap lmao

Yeah, "Was gonna be on the album" is akin to "While I was recording for CLB, I did this" IMO
His recording process can make any producer or rapper who's worked on CLB feel like they're working on the album when truthfully, it probably was just a record they made while cooking up for CLB.
That doesn't mean at all that it would have made it, and even if it would have made it, it's likely it would have sounded a bit different.
Y'all gotta be smarter man.
The creative process for making music and collaborating is fluid. All Gunna / Thug know is Drake sent them a song in his album creative cycle. He's obviously making a lot of muisc. Can say all the loosies "could've been on CLB"
Doubt he starts any song thinking "this definitely aint for my album" in an album cycle
Yep.
Drake's recording process for an album is expansive from what we know. Sending ideas and records back and forth is all a part of the process.
I can see how Gunna would say this was originally for CLB, but I'm pretty sure he didn't know anything about where it was supposed to land beyond "I worked on something w/Drake while he was working on his album"
Producers, artists, etc. have went on the record and talked about how in the dark they are about placement until like a week prior.
IMO
Solid is 🔥 but it’s easily one of his most forgotten features . I wish he rapped on second beat .

These nephews gotta trust Drake's ear lmao ... he knows what's album tier and loosie tier, although I'm not sure why Chicago Freestyle, War and Not you Too were placed on DLDT 😂
Take this Francis and the Lights anecdote on working on Karaoke:
"My immediate reaction was to go into the studio with my producer, who I work with on most of my things, and we tried to make beats," he told MTV News. "And we sent one and heard nothing; we sent another and heard nothing. And I sort of realized: It has to be deeper than that. For Drake and his people, it has to be good above all, before it's any genre or anything. So I had a song that I had been working on for a while that I knew was good. I knew it was something special. And I made the decision to give it to him and let it go in that way. So I tracked 'Karaoke' in one night in the middle of recording my record. I sent it to them, and I heard back in, like, three minutes"
