I think y’all are overstating how much he drops, he does like 5 projects a year max. yeah it’s a lot but it’s nothing unheard of
5 projects a year
I think when artists drop a lot it inherently just makes me think what theyre doing isn’t particularly special.
Not even necessarily saying thats the right way of thinking but I can only process someone who puts out like 5-6 projects a year or whatever as someone who isnt making something thats worth very much.
His threshold for quality ain’t that high tbh I get it
the quality of his music is in his rapping, vocals, lyrics which are always up to par nearly every time
no matter how long they wait Carti and Travis will never rap as good as YB but their production will always be higher quality
We value different things in music and that’s the beauty of music
That whole concept is why I'm not a huge fan of YB. Even in his music there's no breathing space. It's punch ins everywhere, with almost no space between bars, it's just hectic and not enjoyable to me. I can't fw a nigga that don't understand the importance of the peace in the silence between noise.
Carti is more artistic and has top notch production or whatever but actual music s*** like lyrics, emotion, rapping, etc Youngboy is smoking him
Youngboy could make a Stop Breathing. Carti can’t make a drawing symbols.
Just real soulful music. No aesthetics pumping the music up.

Bro what
Thread further exemplifies why FUTURE is the GOAT
Future delivered high quality, thematically consistent projects that each felt like thier own motion picture
Love yb but can’t say the same for him
He does exactly what I talked about in both of those. In that 1st one at 33 seconds in he sings "yeah" loud as hell in between his bars. It's like that person who can't stand when the room is quiet. And in both he keeps punching in to start the next line before the previous line has even finished. It's not for me.
The Pac of our generation
If I had a dollar for everytime someone was supposed to be the Pac of our generation, I'd buy his whole estate.
I’m a casual YB fan and he’s dropped about 20 songs I like in the last year with maybe five of those being songs I really, really like, he does drop too often but 20 good songs year is higher than a lot of other artists. Look at them Frank ocean mf’ers
