Nothing topping Michael Jackson and Prince and nothing never will

And that was before the social media age

  • Prince easily but I love the moment where Patti Labelle asks Indiana Jones what he’s going to do with the Superbowl trophy he stole from an ancient temple and tells him “you got the right attitude honey!”

  • Danny

    Prince

  • Reserving this answer for tomorrow

    Prince

  • 2022. Having all these legends alive performing together so many years after their peak was a gift. And all of them totally delivered.

    legendary

Lip synced the whole set, but his star power pretty much started it all. It’s 100% Prince for men and Bey for women, Madonna and the 2022 set after that.

2012: Madonna with Cee Lo Green, LMFAO, M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj

The greatest popstar of all time deserved a better halftime show celebrating her career with a medley of her biggest hits. She wastes minutes performing Give Me All Your Luvin, her single at the time, and bringing guests like LMFAO, M.I.A and Nicki Minaj. The LMFAO part was kinda funny tho. And the whole campy aesthetic with angels mixed with Roman (?) imagery was cool.

2013: Beyonce with guests Destiny's Child

It was fine. Real fans know that's not even top 50 of her perfomances.

2014: Bruno Mars with guests Red Hot Chili Peppers

Crazy but Bruno only had like 20 songs in his career when he performed. It was during his second era. So the set list is very short. Locked Out of Heaven, Treasure, Runway Baby (a deep cut he had to include because didn't have that many upbeat songs at the time) and Just The Way You Are. RHCP as guests was great and a creative pick. He will eventually headline again (or the new Christmas one) because he has had so many hits since then.

2015: Katy Perry with guests Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz

It was really good. She performed almost all the hits. It was basically her farewell as a major popstar.

2016: Coldplay with guests Beyonce and Bruno Mars

Three acts that I love but... this was all over the place. LOL

    2017: Lady Gaga

Just like Katy, she picked the right songs. It was a great performance.

    2018: Justin Timberlake

It insists upon itself... lacked a certain energy. The Prince homage was unnecessary.

    2021: The Weeknd

    It was good.

    2023: Rihanna

Great song selection, stage and choreography from the dancers but, as usual, she was just there.

    2024: Usher

    This was a mess...
