Initial moments I really enjoy:
Rabbit is amazing, but the part where the kid is just talking feels so endearing.
Deep Red Sea’s melody, especially the piano, is so infectious. Trevor has such a gift for melodies and I love how much a bare piano is the center of this album.
the “I do, I do, sugar” part in Little Devil from the Country is so addicting
Got shook seeing this thread
Was running up YL debut 12 or so years ago
Remember going to a show at this tiny and now closed venue with a digital camera that had less that 4 MP
What's he released since his debut and the album after that? I gotta catch up
This brings me back to Julien Baker's debut, albums that are so raw that makes you think is it ok to hear it bc these subjects are very personal to someone else's life. I reached this conclusion back when Sling dropped actually but hearing the full album it's totally well crafted. YL is a master and I wish him the best
so unbelievably real
no one ever knows about MV and it was top 3 of 2018 for me easy
It's amazing. Enjoyed this new one off first listen, but I do think it's a shame he didnt further explore that experimental sound. Was onto something very unique and daring. This one's a lot more conventional.
