It’s the worst for gaming s*** lol. The title will be like “Last of Us Series Retrospective” with 3 hours of a summary of every plot beat followed by 15 min of some dumbass fan theory that’s been repeated to death already

The recent James Somerton expose was a pretty good example of someone just plagiarising and making stuff up, then finessing that into a highly lucrative patreon

But the thing I'm getting at more is that many video essayists plan out their schedules far in advance to coincide with what's going to be popular that month, it's rarely the product of organic interest in a subject

There's this attitude that every new thing NEEDS an essay as soon as possible, like this video on Killers of the Flower Moon pumped out so soon after the film's release that most of the footage is from in-theater camrips

I blame english/literature courses with their timed essays

I mean what do you expect from videos with titles like that? What could that type of video have been that would have made you happy
