I got that mail vid suggestion too
Well what did you expect, we share the same birthday haha, it's no surprise youtube gives us similar suggestions 😝🤣🤣🤣
Youtube has been regularly suggesting random old videos, but this was a nice surprise, cause I hadn't listened to the track in quite a while too 😁
Talking about Weeknd's Thursday, of course the main track is the title track, and he made a fantastic job at making it iconic (he worked hard on all the tracks, and it shows), but to me the highest, most "Thursday" moment in the project/mixtape is nowhere to be found in the 5 minutes and 20 seconds of the title track, no. But in the end of "Lonely Star". The whole emotion he transmits, the dark, heavy production, my god!
"Not on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday... Sunday...
But on Thursdaaayyy... Thursdaaaaayyyyy...
Not on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday... Sunday...
But on Thursdaaaaayyyyyy...."
Actually the whole interaction with the girl from 4:20-5:49 and those female voices echoing at 5:00 right after girlfinishes talking, but before abel begins to talk. Every little element has been meticulously placed. Kudos to Doc McKinney and Illangelo, the magic maker duo.
I remember being struck by it at the first ever listen(s), during the time where I was getting to know the album, and I couldn't pair the "that song with that sound" with that song's title, I remember one time when I was replaying the tape I said to myself "okay, Thursday (the mixtape) Imma let you play start to finish, but first I want to listen that (fucked up part) I was talking above. Now which song was it? Lonely Star? No way, that song was the "baby you could have it aaaaallllllll", it has to be the title track where he sings the days of the week in the chorus"
...
I was listening the whole song at the "edge of my seat" waiting for the dark part to arrive... Then to my sad surprise, it never came... 😢... It was like... It was never there
(It was like it was never there)
It was like it was gone in thin air (no)🤣🤣🤣
