the majority of white folks can't even wrap their heads around black art. it became what it became but it was never made for them to begin with, and it sure as hell wasn't made with them in mind.

    This is so true

The mere thought of a non black person trying to understand a rap record is absolutely hilarious to me

There’s so many cultural references that fly right over their head so I’m def not expecting some white teenage girl to understand DJ tags lol

it happens a lot on ktt and it's kinda annoying ngl

whites get mad when we say that but it's the truth and it's not in a gatekeeping sorta way. i'm just saying that their voice and opinion on black art doesn't hold as much weight as they think.

exactly and it’s crazy when u have this conversation it always attracts the most sensitive people who believe that you’re saying that white rap fans shouldnt exist

eminem fans are known for doing this. my neighbor would say that rap was made for everyone and would use the most commercial examples to support her argument

it’s the idea that the entire culture is strictly defined by music, when lts not

    thats what gets lost

you can listen to everything and do as much extra credit as you want but you have to understand you’re always gonna have a bit of ignorance

    so lost
