    Yeezy Gap mainline back

  • Jul 24, 2022

If you don’t like Yeezy gap Balenciaga you have no taste

  • Jul 24, 2022

It seems this release has been fairly accessible to the public
Outside of the price point which will ultimately price some people out
It does seem like there’s plenty of available garments

I need someone who has an Anorak to tell me if this is defected or not

This is from the bottom left side of the pull string. It seams to be broken and they tried to sew it to not make it broken and it’s pretty botchy and i could not successfully pull that string until I pulled it harder and revealed this. So let me know if this is common with the anoraks or if I need to return and repurchase

I imagine this is the type of stuff he wants to do since 2018 and with Gap he can finally do this

Oh yeah tbh this is a better tone setter than the jackets or even the whole first collection. I can now appreciate the collection differently because this s*** encapsulates that “find some futuristic s*** in the thrift store” type of vibe better than any of the other stuff does on first glance.

Its as if he wants his clothing to embody a repurposed lost future, like going to a worn-down vacant sci-fi world. Insanely hard and I appreciate him going all out like this in a way that continues to push boundaries instead of just doing s*** that blends in with GAP’s mainline stuff

Like the perspective. I’ve always interpreted it in a way in we’re we’ve pushed the image of uniqueness to the point that existing as something unique is contrived and truly equal to everyone else existing as something unique. The ‘customize-your-character’ screen of popular culture is breaking, and through the cracks the faceless and free silhouette comes out, the fitting attire of those who are still engaged with a living society. All the clothes feel as if it’s made for the precious gig worker.

at the end of the day its cool to have something not too self-referential and what might actually pass as normal clothes with a twist. ald and all that stuff reeks of not taking themselves 100% seriously or running in circles of 'restoring the feeling' while bringing nothing but mood boards to the table

this Yeezy stuff is incredible first and foremost for how much ideas it gives you, and how it gets your mind going trying to understand its nature if that makes sense. also how 'offline' the clothing feels even being overhyped to death by its crowd

Generally I’m as scathing of a critic as you are. Even though I love fashion I wouldn’t call myself an active consumer of it and we’d likely agree that wearing any article of hyper-unique stuff really makes you appear
just as sycophantic as the next gaudy logo-loving guy.

But I also think being too cynical about it is silly. If you know that you’re just indulging for indulgence’s sake and aren’t actively wearing avant garde s*** for the sole purpose of looking different from “all these lame npc’s” out here, then that’s fine by me

I love how you put that. Kanye is a nerd at heart and I’ve always felt like the Yeezy stuff from ‘15-‘20 always felt a liiiiitle too mood board-y for me to get behind. This is the first fashion thing kanye’s done, in at least a while, that I feel must be appreciated on its own merits. Like you implied you can’t restore the feeing without pushing the feeling forward, and I like how with these sunglasses I can already start to envision how I’d contextualize them even as someone who isn’t a balenciaga soldier so to speak lol

Yeah good point. I guess I don’t see that perspective as being cynical though. I feel like if it was cynical then the entire idea of even buying the clothes would go out the window. I live in the PNW and I’m a freelance designer starting a company with a home. Before that I was server at a hotel getting my degree. I’ve never had the affordance to wear “fashion” for the sake of wearing it. I was an still an on the go. I went straight from my classes to work and now I’m in an office with some friends and I go home to work on house projects. I’m genuinely looking for clothes that have multi purpose and still hold artistic value as I don’t think it has anything to do with not looking like a “lame npc”. I buy his clothes because I enjoy the vision and I see high quality utility. I feel this collection speaks to the people on the go all the time who don’t want to change their clothes every time they need to do something different and that enjoy art and design.

Fire. Just not trying to come across as the dude that likes to law low and judge people on their clothing because I could truly care less. I just found the collection to speak more towards my lifestyle and one that I feel many people share as well.

Mine just has the strings I don't see anything like that on it. Maybe an internal piece that came undone 🤔
