yzy stem player app by @spatial_labs for Kanye west.
    .
a continuous research project developed by sLABS using our technology stack called “presence”. This short video showcases how presence would interface with yzy stem player
    .
presence explores the capacity of blockchain; and how it can enable an artist and their audience to have real-time music collaboration
    .
re-mixing and engaging in what we’re calling p-o-p-a-d (proof of presence and discovery), we’re re-writing alternative and authenticated engagement metrics
    .
through presence, streams can be both immutably synchronous and non-immutably asynchronous; therefore have multiple timelines of a single instance
    .
presence allows you to create and listen to whatever you want-however you want
    .
you can create a shadow copy of any song available on the platform
    .
for example, you can create; an acapella version of a track, an instrumental version or maybe even a lo-fi version and sync it to your presence playlist, allowing other users to discover your “versions” of a track
    .
several shadowed instances of a song are grouped as one - as an artist can initiate yield returns for alternative instances distributed and shared on the platform b/n other users
    .
in short, presence is a decentralized collaborative digital service platform

first look at the yeezy stem player application.
    .
it is built on the blockchain. Ye uploads the music directly to the blockchain and becomes the dsp (digital service provider)
    .
no need to turn music to dsp. Ye can change verses at any time and retain a***ytics and stream counts
    .
people can listen to original songs, but can also have access to create their own remixes through a subscription
    .
with this technology we can have global listening parties where ye can do real time mixing and it updates on your phone

This thread should be moving at light speed, this is amazing

  • Sep 3, 2021

That's cool af if it works well

  • Sounds very cool, but it also sounds like he came up with this app idea last minute or something, cause we probably won't get the full experience until the next album drop, whenever that will be.

I know he been working on the stem player for a while tho so...

blockchain jargon is the worst type of tech snake oil

discredits the app being about the product

So my understanding is people can directly remix tracks and upload them to this service using the stem player / app. Then plays on these remixes still count towards streams and a***ytics for the actual tracks?

    .

I still don’t understand how the listening party stuff work.
