nah I definitely agree and I probably prefer the majority of the songs on the original album to the acoustic but there's some tracks like You Can Still Come Home, Cannonball, Aeroplane that I prefer the acoustic ones for

Crazy. This is easily top 3 of his discog along with self titled and American Heartbreak

I do think Zachs vocals (whether intentional or not) are a bit underwhelming on some of the studio album cuts...either getting drowned out by the production or just not having a lot of energy to them...lyrically I do think it's one of Zachs stronger efforts though and the vocals are clearer on the acoustic version so yeah I think a 5 out of 10 is too low...it's a 7 or 8 at the very least

After a good bit of playing this one, my top 10 tracks are:

All songs are great, and once again he maintains his streak of no skips for me.

But this is definitely his most satisfying release in a while. Honestly the first album of his in the past few years that I feel comes remotely close to the feeling I got when I first listened to Heartbreak (and still get when I listen now) — and it's far tighter than just being"remotely close" too.

When it's all said and done, this album is an easy shoo-in for being tied for my 2nd favorite album of his.

Heartbreak will probably always be my frontrunner, but with Heaven he's reinvigorated my belief that he can touch that ceiling multiple times. Which isn't to say everything between Heartbreak and Heaven has been underwhelming by any means — I was more than happy with them.

I'm long passed the point where any Zach album will wonderful to me no matter what. But every now and then he transcends my already high expectations and an album ends up being among my all time favorite listening experiences. And he's done that again here.

Although i will say that if what he expressed as the reasoning for the acoustic add-on version is actually true, then that's really unfortunate tbh. I never got the impression that Zach would be one to pander that aggressively to random strangers that he (should) know will always find something to complain about.

I havent latched onto the acoustic tracks nearly as much as the originals. It's cool that he recorded it; more Zach tunes are always welcome. But if he really did it as an attempt to please everyone — or any reason other than because he just wanted to make it — then that's kinda disappointing.
