The rating spread exposes the propaganda machine. The hacks have always hated the most talented for exposing their shortcomings. It must be really demoralizing to make stale despair-slop like Marriage Story at the same time as the greatest living artist is expanding the art form beyond what anyone could’ve imagined. All the while animating us to a renewal of our conscience and a greater knowledge of self and God. They really can’t compare so they must tear down.
