Not to take credit away from 070 Shake (she did her s*** on Modus Vivendi) but I could easily imagine Cudi over this type of production. It feels modern, yet true to that unique sound that Cudi had been previously known for. This would’ve been a satisfying MOTM3. Him doing his best Travis Scott impression for half the album just felt kinda safe and lazy in comparison to what 070 shake did here.

That flight track and the pines was such clean tracks

Just did the biggest eyeroll in person.

Hate these kind of hate threads that are disguised as praise for another artist. Most people don't give a f*** about 070 Shake and that's the truth. If they did, her album would actually be talked about by other people aside from music nerds.

So.... your takeaway point is that nobody talks about 070 shake? Cool but my point still stands regardless

Your point is completely subjective. And the majority don't agree.

Modus felt more cudi to me than MOTM 3 did

    Agreed. Shake album was great

Everything is subjective. That means nothing. The influence in her music is very clear and I’m not the first person to get cudi vibes from her sound

    Both great albums

Hilarious how somebody can criticize an artist being inspired by another artist that THEY inspired in the first place

You can absolutely end up biting someone who took your sound to another direction. MOTM3 sounds more like Trav than Cudi, that's why nobody criticized Cudi for just making the same music again

Bro i was so shocked all thru last yr that this record wasnt talked about on here

When will you niggas stfu about MOTM3 not being MOTM3. MOTM1 and 2 don't even sound like each other. Yet you niggas still forcing this idea that MOTM3 was supposed to be like the first 2.
See this is why it took 10 f***ing years for Cudi to make MOTM3, because of threads like this, and niggas who kept tweeting at him to "drop MOTM3".

Times had change and artists try new things. They can't stick to one particular style all the time.

But anyways, MOTM3 is worthy of being MOTM3, because it's the greatest way to close off a chapter in Cudi's career and life in a bigger note.

His sound always changed each album, if you don't appreciate the work, then move on and stop whining about it bruh.

  • Feb 17, 2021

What Cudi can do is make something that is influenced by that sound, but he can't recreated that feeling.

This. This. This. 100%. This is why I understand when certain artists like Lauryn Hill or Andre 3000 never drop. The expectations are too high and damn near unrealistic. Y'all would've been b****ing if MOTM3 just sounded like 1 or 2. He gave us vibes just like the first mixed in with something new. As if Cudi was just biting Travis. Travis kisses the ground he walks on and that's barely an exaggeration.
