Instead of being all pretentious about Sean's 'corny' bars and songs (which were no more cornier than Kanye himself, or any other elite rapper) you should of just leaned into it because he could of carried in the imprint. The only one moving units and you wanna laugh about 'ass ass ass'
Yeah okay lol

Sean wouldnt have carried good music lol
Sean wouldnt have carried good music lol
What do you mean wouldn't? He literally did loool
Ye ?
I would not attribute Lil Wayne to carrying CM, Drake and Nicki Did. YM is Wayne's imprint.
I wouldn't attribute Ye to carrying GOOD, he carried Def Jam. GOOD is his imprint.
The legacy of these artists labels cannot be them themselves.
Sean to this day is the only artist from that label that gave Ye a modicum of ROI in the form of #1 albums, top 10 records, features, and more.

Nicki and Drake don’t need Lil Wayne. In fact they haven’t needed him in over a decade. It’s actually the reverse. Wayne benefits more collaborating with them
Then vice versa. Same applies to Ye relationship with Hov.
It’s 2022 and we’re saying an established artist needs Ye. Why is that? Ye should be able to ride his wave at this point in time but he has no wave to ride.

I see what ur saying and in that instance yeah u could say sean was carrying GOOD, but I dont know that feels off cause at least drake and nicki ended being more independent under their imprint compared to sean while ye was pretty actively helping and boosting sean

Did you read what I said?
I never said Drake nor Nicki NEEDED Wayne
I never said Ye needed Hov.
This is not about none of these artists needed anyone, it's a commentary on an artist's label. Two entirely different convos.
Like, Drake nor Nicki did not need Lil Wayne. I'm saying they carried YM. Big Sean carried Good

Was he? I mean sure he was initially, but by like DSP, Sean was pretty self sufficient. Bounce Back, IDFWU, some of the biggest singles from a Good Act had nothing to do with Kanye. Kanye wasn't on Detroit 2, the last Good Music #1 album.

Yeah ye helped sean out quite a bit with DSP
All your fault was a old ye song, he's on blessing and one man changed the world and he's one of the producers on I don't f*** with you, I think theres more songs. I actually think ye was one of the executive producers for the album lol
And although a minor role he has vocals on bounce back and he help executive produced I decided and Detroit 2 as well (not even close to amount of work he did on dsp tho)

My point being is Big Sean should not need a label at this point. His fall off has nothing to do with GOOD Music or the label.
It’s of his own doing. The GOOD Music excuse is played out. Drop some fire s***. Simple.

What the f*** are you talking about bro
I’m not talking about Big Sean’s fall off, I’m talking about the Good Music label and how he carried the label and how good may still be a thing had they leaned into him
She's the one that doesn't exist
so funny how the first posts always hit the hardest

They did lean into him. That’s the point. He fell off on his own.
A fully produced album by Metro Booming when Metro was scorching is not leaning into your artist? Fully produced Hit-Boy album. All the big name producers on every single album. He’s by far the most marketed rapper on GOOD. It’s an excuse to say they didn’t “lean” into him. He just flopped.
At one point good music was Ye,common, Mos, q tip I know I’m not imaging this
plus john legend

how did f***ing big sean flop? Mans has multiple wordwide anthems
f***er even dated the biggest hollywood celebs
in what f***ing world of d****, did Big Sean flop?
he did what exactly what he posed to do for the type of artist he is lmao

So if he did exactly what he’s supposed to do for the artist he is then what’s the argument against GOOD? They did their job then right?

ow damn sorry, thought u said he flopped in his ovrl career, misread
but i do think he had some anthems(like Bounce Back after the Metro album) plus the Jhene Aiko collabs do be hittin very well in they target audience
man is living his life tbh
Not a surprise at all
Ye and Push mishandled GOOD so much.
They could've really built up a phenomenal label and had an incredible lineup
Is that really on Push? I feel like by the time he got to the head the label was pretty much what Shake is describing, they were just signing acts that Push and Steven Victor liked lol

pusha t is a lazy sack of s*** he got appointed label head in like 2015 and then did nothing but add a garbage 'i'm still young' verse to his only talents lead single and then spent another few years trying to hype up his next flop as an artwork
