(Wolf documentary is missing, but oh well)
This album is my personal fav Tyler album of mine. During my transition back to Houston in 2019. A bit before Igor came out, I was blasting IFHY heavy because I was dealing with depression from a hard breakup at the time. This album really help through those dark times along with Igor. I started to get myself together.
I wished I had became a fan of Tyler around this era, because I feel nostalgic about this era even tho I wasn't a fan. The overall atmosphere of this album and era just brings back to 2013 when it was Cartoon Network, being a middle schooler d***ing around, and Odd Future was at the peak of their popularity.
An amazing album and amazing era.
Tell your favs and your memories?
Bro that’s beautiful that it helped man. I feel you though. I heard this album a year after it came out. It was 2014 and I had been out of town for summer vacation and I was trying to get into Tyler cause I loved their funny moments and at first I hated this album cause all I listened to was Kendrick, FBZ, Rocky, Pro Era, a little bit of Thug, Ab-Soul, UA, Run The Jewels, etc. but when I heard this I was like I’m not used to this kind of music but I gave it a couple listens and it clicked and it became my favorite album and also an artist I would love for like 6 years. For sure an important album for my high school years
experiencing this rollout in real time was amazing
then listening to the leak first time and hearing him not only improve but basically enter a new level creatively was crazy
Has some blemishes here and there but still a great stepping stone for Tyler. It’s his Breath Of The Wild
Also the first album I really got to see internet speculation over. With how Goblin ended, we were wondering how this trilogy would end. With talks of it being mostly an instrumental album, theories on the story, etc. when Domo23 dropped it felt like an event.
answer still one of tylers best songs
i wanna say this still my fav album from him but i havent played it in years so idk how it holds up now
i listened to this album driving through yellowstone by myself once, hasn't sounded as good anywhere else
Not even top 3 tyler albums objectively, but will always be within my top 2 just for the memories and how much it shaped certain parts of my teenage years <3
Classic, found a digipak at FYE recently too. It's the blue cover one lmao.
Can't believe this released at the end of my senior year
I really bumped the s*** out of this that summer to have so many memories with it.
I was 13 on spring break in hawaii eating crunch berries by the ocean every day for a week listening to this
hearing the new Dr TC voice for the first time on the intro was crazyyy honestly this is a goat narrative album
