It's for my own personal usage (still gonna share the videos). I like having things in as high of quality as they can be, even if it's a marginal improvement. Not really a waste of time to me.

got nothing against it, I just don't use youtube videos as my source video. bitrate is too low.

If you can find me a higher quality version I'll do it. Worst case scenario I'll use a Tidal version of the video since it's higher bitrate.

200GB was only because after putting the frames back together I exported it uncompressed. I got that down to 12GB without losing noticeable quality. I have 40TB+ in storage I'm not worried about space.

Some of it is OCD, but it's almost entirely about enjoying the music and the video. The audio is replaced with lossless CD quality and the video is noticeably better quality. I have 2.2TB of lossless music, it's all about the enjoyment of the music.

The tech is there now to do exactly what I'm doing. I'm not just re exporting a 1080p video into 4k. These are frame by frame upscaled to 4k using AI. Take a look at the screen shots and compare them to something on YouTube
