yeah i remember seeing how lethal they were from the protests last year. people itt are saying that a taser may not have been effective in this situation. (i disagree but have no knowledge on tasers)

if this officer was equipped with rubber bullets rather than a lethal gun, the girl would have been severely wounded, but both lives would've been saved. every cop doesn't need a gun

It depends where you hit people. This guy was shooting to kill. Cops are trained to shoot to kill. You don't unload 4 rounds by accident.

They are desensitized on purpose. I recently read about a guy who did target practice on pictures of his own kids to make sure he wouldn't hesitate.

yeah rubber bullets would probably be a better alternative especially in cases like this one, but I sincerely doubt that would ever be taken seriously in the US given the culture around both police and guns

Yeah rubber bullets can be lethal at close range. The only way this ended differently was if the cops showed up earlier before the girl charged the other girl or the parents deescalated the situation.
