You think the cop is more justified after watching it? I just saw it, it’s still really hectic and kind of hard to follow. From what I could tell, she attacked the one girl, bounced off that girl and charged at the pink girl with the knife, at which point she was shot?

In this scenario the cops should have tasered him. This is ridiculous.

Shooting the 15 year old chick is justified.

See video in the tweet right above this post. She just attacked the girl on the ground, then runs straight from that girl to to the girl in pink against the car. From the body cam footage you can see the knife in her hand and moving towards the girl in pink. She was definitely trying to stab the girl. And from that security camera footage, you can see that she wasn’t using the knife in self defense. She may have been getting jumped earlier, but at that moment she was instigating the violence

Cop had to put her down. The adults in this case are to blame for letting an argument about chores get out of hand.

This seems like a suicide by cop situation. I think police should really need to be trained in ways to properly handle mentally ill people. Shooting somebody because they have a knife, while they are many feet away from you and there is nobody else around them, that doesn’t make sense. And the argument will obviously be “well he pulled out a weapon on a cop”, and yeah obviously you shouldn’t do that, you know the consequences. But the cop could’ve taken steps back, tried to deescalate, tried to reason with him, use a taser, etc etc.

Damn I looked the cop up. He also shot another guy he’s been charged for that shooting.

How is killing someone, who had a knife, justified? The girl wasn’t even lunging at the policeman. Why couldn’t the policeman just try to restrain her or use his taser?

Seems like if they’re willing to shoot an unarmed person once, they’re willing to do it again. Not all that surprising, but it’s frustrating that they not only face no consequences, but are also put back on the street afterwards

You didn’t answer my question, why didn’t the policeman resort to other ways to de-escalate the situation? Like using a taser or trying to restrain the girl

tasers aren't 100% effective in bringing someone down,
when there's a life and death situation you're authorized to use lethal force to neutralize a threat

As the cop walks up, she approaches the girl in black. The cop should be visible to her at this point. She attacks the girl in black (doesn’t stab her, but has the knife in her hand). The cop does attempt to grab her, tries to pull her back, she then lunges at the girl in pink. From the body cam footage you can see her going in for a stabbing motion to the girl in pink.

She previously stabbed someone before the cop arrived, and the lunged at the other girl and was mere inches from stabbing her in the neck. She could of easily died.

There was a chic in my city who got into a fight with another girl. But the chic used a knife and ended up killing her with it.

Knives are deadly bruh, if a 200lb man lunged at your mom with a knife and the cop lit his ass up while the blade was literally inches from making contact with her I bet you wouldn’t be mad in the slightest.

The issue at hand is that the girl could of potentially died, because a lethal weapon was in use, and in the court it is ok to use leathal force to neutralize a lethal threat.

If she hadn’t lunged at the girl I would say a taser is justified. But once she initiates an attack literally inches from her neck, then I would say a gun is a reasonable decision.
