Exactly, so then you just making racist generalisations from the outside

Should I find various posts/articles from Asians that are stating the same thing? Will that comfort you? Do you want me to post the total revenue generated from skin bleaching products in South Asian countries? I can do that too

    Seriously

Why would I be Asian and saying nigga?

plea deal wasn't really too surprising, as outrageous as it may be.

under DC law they had to be tried in juvenile court since they were under 15 (one girl was 15, but the bar to be charged outside of juvenile court in between ages 15-17 is exceedingly high). here until age 21 was the max sentence they could feasibly receive.

“But I thought the system was being lenient of them because they’re black”

ok yep i was tryna figure this out too but wasn't too sure about DC law. wish this was dropped much earlier

seems about right then if they plead out with this in mind

"now you're trying to insinuate im racist"

    "most asians are white worshippers"

    Got em

  • Apr 6, 2021

They’re clearly trolling in the tweet OP put up there, they wanna call the man an Asian (which he is) to completely blame Black People but trust me, no American is gonna think Pakistan is in Asia, they think it’s in the Middle East or something

because this hasn’t got anything to do with the fact that he’s Asian. They didn’t attack him because they thought “wow another Asian let’s rob”. Most Americans don’t even think of South Asians as Asian so I don’t understand why you’d expect these two girls to.

what is the criteria for when something has to do with someone being asian? do you not think race/ethnicity affects how vulnerable some kids think a person is?

again, has nothing to do with the anti-black media narrative which I oppose. and I'm posing this to you genuinely

This isn’t about race at all, it’s just some very stupid girls being reckless and idiotic and. Is a tragic death. A lot of my family are taxi and Uber drivers as immigrants so I feel for the man who died.

You throwing around these statistics like they supporting your claim on asains worshipping whites, might want to educate yourself on colonialism before you start pushing racist narratives

This man really telling me and my family that we are white worshippers from his “observations”

But as soon as I start throwing around statistics then it’s all over for me

Just goes to show pervasive and accepted casual racism is towards asains even on ktt

He’s not completely wrong in the fact that some older East Asians hold severe prejudice to Black people and certainly want their children to be like whites. Not saying all but there’s some, I don’t see many Pakistanis worshipping white people however.

I never said anything remotely close to that .. tf are you talking about

no black people are not racist, they are victims of systemic racism obviously

those specific comments (that you can't point out that asian people were victims) are literally comments that white supremacists say when racist incidents occur, that's my point. nothing more

this is part of why context matters for phrases. someone racist would use that idea in the context of all offenses committed upon a minority because they're trying to diminish the possibility that people will interpret the event in a race-related way. they don't want those details (as in, they want the headline to read "man kills another man in carjacking incident") because the lack of information allows them to more convincingly say to themselves and others "there's no racism towards blacks! that's just a man who killed another man."

this is different. ppl aren't saying the race reference should be removed entirely (and no one itt is saying "you can't point out that asian people were victims", imo). they're saying that "Asian" is a technically-right-but-not-really descriptor for the guy -- not in terms of literalness, but in terms of how america in general sees "Asian" as. for ex, of course there are people who regularly think of indian people as asian, but a lot more don't, and that's bc a lot more people in america aren't familiar with india or asia than are. they see asian as chinese/japanese/korean

and news people know this. but news people are also marketers and they know that anti-asian sentiment is a hot topic rn. so what these ppl are arguing is that this twitter guy is stretching the descriptor "Asian" past the public idea of "Asian" and is using its more technical description to justify itself, even though the victim doesn't look like what most people reading the article would initially expect him to. so why would the guy write a headline that makes it harder for people to understand the situation? because anti-Asian is a hot topic rn
