But man. It’s hard to believe a 17 year old me thought verses such as “Shutting s*** down in the mall, and telling every girl she’s the one for me” was profound. Granted, he was young too. We are all like this when we are young. But it’s almost unlistenable when you actually realize how much corn he was pushing. Obviously as he matured the music is nowhere near as corny. But that 09-10 run has some of the worst bars of his career in retrospect. Maybe I’m just overthinking it and being a little harsh. He obviously isn’t the only one who was guilty of this and again, this doesn’t speak to the quality of his discography as a whole which a lot of his work from other early years has aged just fine.

The only thing that's aged poorly are some of the flows he used but that songs themselves from that time have aged like wine. So Far Gone and Thank Me Later still sound great today. Same goes for his features around that time. OP is tripping.
