ppl be dressing for social media engagement

Also alot of people online who dress like they "know their s***" when it comes to post 2020 fashion don’t have any natural finesse or swag to themselves tbh

I love it when I see them make of fun of any kind of fashion choices when they’re just wearing some beat up boots and baggy black cargos knowing damn well in 2016 they were fog and supreme tf down 😂

    This tbfh

Mfs just put anything on that would've been considered goofy in the 2010s

I like a lot of it but a normal person in Ohio would look at someone wearing long ass jorts with hiking boots or church shoes+long socks and think they don’t know how to dress. Fashion made more sense in 2015

That’s cause they don’t know how to dress lmao they just see those dumb fits on ig and say well I guess this is accepted as cool now

I blame bloody osiris too for making ridiculous rick owens ig fit pics a thing, it worked for him but look what it started lmao

2010s fashion discourse was spending an embarrassing amount of hours on forums arguing with schizos about different versions of rick dunks, Story et Fall vs Wyatts, archive raf, etc. Eventually you honed in a decent fashion sense despite it often being religiously following a fashion directors vision.

Maybe those days are gone now. Not much conversation - just buy buy buy. Plenty of tiktoks that's just "Buy these plastic things from amazon for this aesthetic". The dumb materialism of the 10s somehow got even more braindead.

    Gonna go grab my cane

The one thing I like more now than then is how nearly every fit of pants is acceptable now whereas back then I had to have stacks bro. Got all my jeans with the same leg opening now sometimes i feel like straight fit, sometimes skinnies, sometimes flared.

I can honestly understand the argument in op,but this fashion s*** is still kinda fun,you just have to be a natural fan of this s***. Only problem thats going on today is that theres no direction in fashion/style anymore. Everything has sub-culture now,and its up to you to build your taste and find what you like. Rappers really aren't tastemakers anymore,so I guess its harder for people to follow this style stuff.

But the style I’m talking about is the literally the result of a rappers style.

Same with the drill kids in nyc they dressing like their fave rapper it’s still happening a lot

Still have so much s*** from this era.

Like 5 or 6 pairs of SLP denim
bunch of SLP sneakers and shoes
2 pairs of raf Velcro’s including one of my all time trails
    A few raf ozweegos
    Margiela triple straps and futures

I still even have a couple pairs of arenas and the SLP bikers lmao. Good times

This picture is exactly what I mean lowkey if it was for todays look it’d just be a stack of beat up balneci runners and boots

High fashion today doesn’t necessarily mean looking sharp like it did 10 years ago

Cant tell if this is satire but if not then thats fire. Hard to think of any look that was as viscerally impactful as hedi’s slp to clothing at large

And its trash, but its all they know and their not interested in going further. I'll be honest,Kanye/Pharrell helped me get into fashion, but after that,i started to do my own research, buy magazine and put together and buy clothes i liked.

Eventually got grown, and started buying what I wanted, cause I acquired taste. Rap was always trendy, but now,its reverted back to 0 taste, straight gaudy. I haven't followed a rappers fashion in a long time, got my own like-dislikes.

New kids though, alot of them just straight copying looks. On the bright side, these IG fashion inspo/archive pages, can be some of the best content on the web, follow the right pages and you'll learn something new everyday.
