The markets are global. People lost money globally because of how involved Wall Street was to the mortgage crisis.
it did affect a lot of people (myself included) but it is definitely not on the scale of COVID. This is affecting everyone in all aspects of life. Even the least affected in most countries are still affected in some way (having to wear masks to stores not being able to travel freely etc)
