How do you think Christians were responsible for the dark ages lol?
Western Europe was mostly inhabited by savages and barbarians by the time the Roman empire fell obviously it took time for them to catch up to the Roman standard of living.
The other half of Rome, Byzantium was very prosperous achieved a higher standard of living than the old Roman empire ever did till they were eventually crushed by the Ottomans and had their development stunted for another couple hundred yrs.
this is anti-Marxist (by most definitions)
Work is when you wear a hardhat

The idea the dark ages even existed is legitimate eurocentric racism, and people who know me well on this board know I rarely ever say that about anything or ever bring race into discussions. The GOLDEN AGE OF ISLAM started almost immediately before the midpoint of what we consider the dark ages. The golden age of islam gave us modern mathematics and physics, astronomy, and early chemistry and scientific method rationale. Plus the golden age of islam resulted in advances in philosophy, arts, engineering, and medicine that were basically unrivaled historically up until the enlightenment. This also ignores Tang Dynasty (golden age of china) which lasted throughout virtually the entire dark age period + advances of the post-Gupta empire in India.

Isn't it understood that when people say "dark ages" they are referring to only Europe? I don't think anyone claims it was a global dark age

the chart itself which that guy is using is trying to frame global science and includes non-european advancements (Egyptian) but after that implies all advancements were uniquely eurocentric before "modern science" (also """scientific advancement""" being some measurable quantity on a y-axis is a joke anyway). It's different to talk about dark ages as a concept as far as living quality or european history, the discussion of "how did the dark ages effect science/philosophy/etc" is complete bullshit because the implication there is that europe was the sole source of advancement in those studies.

I don't think so, I think he's just obsessing over dumb GOP talking points like ""election security"" + mandates or whatever. Like yeah the GOP just sweeped democrats universally but clearly every election is rigged.
