I'm not saying he's right wing because "he believes the democratic party is corrupt" though, like everyone thinks from all political backgrounds, even like most actual liberals themselves. We're saying he's right wing because he spends time being vehemently anti-vax, hanging out with right wing grifters like Charlie Kirk & Tim Pool, burning out or pushing away his liberal or left leaning friends, obsessing over bizarre culture war issues, pushing literal CIA talking points, and uncomfortably pouring right-leaning stuff onto his guests even when they don't want to talk about it among other things

Oh yeah. What i meant was that based on years of watching him at it's core he isnt that set in his political views.

But recently US got polarised. And his life experiences showed him how corrupt the left is so he stopped supporting it.

He is an entertainer. He needs fans. US is polarised now so he has to pick a side and dive into that market. It is what it is. Trump was the same.

Yeah I do think that's a factor but it's kind of a vicious cycle especially if you look at the actual timeline of things. They were attacking him as far back as when the whole dumbass "IDW" thing started with Weinsteins/Peterson/etc a few years ago and he was still basically in his usual bag of faux-liberatarian/changing his views depending on the guest; if he had Tim Pool on he'd be basically a republican but if he had a LA/NY comedian on he'd suddenly be super liberal again. It's part of what made the early media stuff about him so silly. It wasn't really until this past year that he really went full idiot and then the media (which was already bloodthisty to smear him) took that as blood in the water to go full apeshit on him. I think that definitely pushed him further in that direction but it really seems that the main thing that finally broke his brain was COVID & California Politics discourse. There was a few episodes that were transitory like post-Spotify move where he would keep bringing that stuff up repeatedly even if the Guests didn't care, and I think he just kinda moved into an echo chamber more and more since moving to Spotify and that cemented views he was already sympathetic towards.

Yeah I feel you. Considering internal spotify politics, maybe he merely pretended to be neutral/moderate until he secured a deal, let's not disregard that possibility
