    Why?

    1. way for democrats to get easier control of senate/house
    2. literally to small to me to be a official state

I think DC should be a state in voting and congress but It also seems ridiculous to call DC a state smh

I guess it should be a state if PR becomes one tho.

So you would judge a place worthy to be a state based on total land size rather than total number of people living there? Because in terms of total number of people living in it, it is about the same size as 4 current states (bigger than 2 of them, slightly smaller than the other 2). So I just don't see that argument holding any weight.

In terms of Dems "getting easier control"...yes, but it's not like this is some conspiracy where Democrats are going to move in mass to DC once it becomes a state . They've been living there this whole time, and have been paying federal taxes without any representation in Congress. It wouldn't be any less fair just if they were Republicans.

If you want to look at it another way, then fine, let's say your argument that it's "too small to be a state" is fair -- by that logic North and South Dakota should then be combined into one state (since they both have a similar population to DC).

Can't really tell if you wrote that just because you're conservative and don't want to even up the playing field for Dems, but if you didn't I'd be very curious what arguments you could make against these points that aren't just "it would look weird as a state".

im not conservative I just always thought DC statehood talk was nonsense as someone in the DC watershed. But I just based on pop you could make it one

So how y'all feel about Colorado's Senate Primary this week?

Is Romanoff a big enough difference from Hickenlooper to care?

And he doesn't need to lol Trump is handing the presidency to him on a silver platter

S*** really went downhill when Trump tear gassed those protesters. His horrible pandemic response was straining things, but his photo op + bunker shenanigans stalled his campaign hard.

Man could have coasted to a win if he had actually made any effort to address and handle Covid.

Got gifted an opportunity to look strong and together, and completely butchered it by siding with his anti-science wackos and emboldening idiots.

Ironically, killing off chunks of his older voters in doing so and alienated other portions.

One more term of Trump and things like that Abortion Rights case would go much differently though if Breyer or Ginsburg get replaced.

Can't imagine there being any cases that would not get a hard conservative ruling if that were to happen tbh.

    You’re a f***ing idiot

All polls start of the yr had bernie and biden beating trump 4-6 points but this was prior to covid and the protests

Literally imagine needing US society to fall apart to grow yr lead.

If we were in normal times it woudlve been a tight race for both but progressives thesis was that our policies would serve to gin up enough voters and biden would be ill equipped due to his yk...struggle speaking

And guess what we were right, you understand bidens last presser was 7 weeks ago right?????

He would’ve faltered in a normal electoral climate like he did in the early primaries

This mf is literally in a basement for the past month fielding zero questions while trump is letting millions go unemployed and suffer what tf you expect

You think if bernie or warren or anyone else won. We wont be seeing these same polls showing 8-12 point leads for them as well?????

There at 17% counted family i think you mean 80% uncounted

Officials say the remaining 80% will drop tomorrow so im fingers crossed rn. Bowman and aoc etc were cool wins but we gotta start venturing past nyc and cali. Booker will make such a fascinating case study

Anyway the margins in the smaller counties mcgrath is winning in arent huge and in fact in a lot of those rural Counties like shelby booker actually won in person voting day off, it’s the early mail votes tht didnt catch his late momentum that fueled mcgraths margins but his margins in the two biggest population centers are expected to be massive and basically whoever wins there wins so it’s looking good for him im cautiously optimistic but we’ll know tomorrow

Are you looking at different results or am I just reading this wrong then?

    It's says "81% precincts reporting"

    Yea “/19% of expected vote”

The turnout this yr for the senate primary is expected to be over a million
