why is Biden always and only bringing up the "fine people on both side" quote to attack Trump?

as with most of dem candidates, it's far easier to attack trump's rhetoric than any of his specific policies when the majority aren't really right-er than obama minus like, immigration (to an extent). they're also just generally all over the place. other stuff like abortion which can be blamed on the GOP haven't been related to him at all, it was all state level. it makes him specifically a hard target to specifically attack on a policy level and most dems don't have fantastic policy proposals themselves.

Unnamed sources shouldn't be criteria for dismissing the legitimacy of a reporting. It is not a novel concept, its there to protect the source and they have every right to request it.

Jeff Goldberg is a very well regarded writer. And there are other journalists who have corroborated elements of the article too. Fox's own national security correspondent for instance.

Given its public knowledge that Trump did skip that visit to the cemetary citing bad weather, and given he immediately leapt to attacking John Kelly, its not hard to put two and two together and figure out he is most likely the source.

Trump's comment on Mccain and POWs, which he denied making, are easily found. We have what Mattis has said in the past. All in all there are a multitude of actions and remarks he's made against the military. These comments being attributed in the article are not out of character. And rightfully have been reported.

Nobody is expecting it to flip your diehard Fox news viewer. If they were to be flipped it would have happened long ago. The intended audience is military voters and the effect is evident.

If anything look at realclearpolitics. They are right leaning but average all of the polls out. Based upon everything I have seen this is one of the most steady elections ever with Biden leaning 6-7 points nationally. Unless some crazy stuff comes out about Biden this is a wipeout. According to that site, which I followed during Obama’s 08 run and had Trump winning last minute in 16, even Texas and GA are toss up states. Trump pulled advertising out of Arizona this month and hasn’t announced his August cash flow while Biden hauled in the largest August fundraising ever at 350+ million. He pulled out of Michigan and PA temporarily in July I believe. Dude is done. He has no money and only appeals to a shrinking section of America
