death, taxes and reading buckleys angel doing some elite bootlicking for the democrats in the ktt election thread lmao his posts be killing me b

The same 4 butthurt socialists really hate getting called on their bullshit.

It’s just hilarious bc you can tell exactly who spends most of their time discussing politics in completely insular safe spaces. When tasked with substantiating anything, just scream centrist or boot licker and then slowly fade away

this story about Bernie in the 80s calling the Democratic Party pathetic and intellectually bankrupt is being played like oppo but if he said that in the general election he’d go on to win in a landslide

Pretty sure this was being researched in 2019 but is just now coming out. I also don't see the benefit of selecting another eldery Senator from New England as his VP, especially when someone like Stacey Abrams could put Georgia in play.

Her platform from her Georgia Governor campaign:

    staceyabrams.com/issues

Mainly focused on expanding Medicare, afforable housing, creating jobs in renewable energy and ending voter discrimination. Sanders endorsed her, certain she would fully embrace a further left agenda on a national scale.

Also attempted to pass a bill to raise Georgia's minimum wage to $15 per hour in 2015 when she was House Minority Leader: wabe.org/minimum-wage-and-education-house-democrats-agenda

abrams is deffo deep in with the neolib crowd. she joined neera tanden’s think tank. but I still think she would be a decent pick for VP, it’s not the most central role in the administration, she would probably shadow what Sanders’ people would push for, and as cynical as it is, her in that position would “look good” and maybe help coalition-build w/ Black people and centrists alike (although I am somewhat skeptical of the electoral value of vp picks in general)

Ok gross, wasn't aware of her connections to Tanden.

And people try to undermine the importance of the VP position but imo they can help in regions where a candidate is weak, or completely break a campaign e.g. Sarah Palin. Voters should care about the person who is 1st in line for the presidency.

I think it's imperative that if Sanders is the nominee he selects someone who will embrace his agenda fully and can make Arizona, NC or Georgia competitive.

    And what is that?

DNC worked as an extension of the Clinton campaign instead of a neutral and balanced entity meant to preserve the integrity of the democratic process. Still Bernie was sick hearing about the emails and wanted to debate policies while everybody was trashing her. But I’m to believe he showed less support than usual

What did they do to affect votes? What did they do that made Hillary lead for pretty much the entire race?

What does it matter if it affected the votes or not? The point is it’s unfair/undemocratic process. You can’t argue in good faith that her bailing out the DNC for executive control is just.

This is probably a reach, or maybe someone who is more suited for a AOC ticket in the near future, but what about Chokwe Lumumba Jr.?

Mayor of the capital of Mississpi, left-wing, supports adopting a worker-cooperative bussines model, son of a pan-African legend, won his election with over 90% of the vote, possibly has the ability to build a strong black voting bloc in southern states like Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.

I don’t see it happening tbh, I’m pretty sure Bernie is set on choosing a woman as his VP as he’s said so before

Though he’d be a great choice
