Silver also said Beto had the best chance at the nom^^

Idk why these ppl who are repeatedly wrong about everything are still given any merit

She just seems like she is always trying to ride whatever wave to get her name out. She only got her senate seat running unopposed, and then got crushed running for Ohio Sec. of State. She started to get more involved in national politics in 2016 and jumped between Hillary, Stein and Bernie.

As far as I know, she was only being courted by stein and ultimately chose to go with Hilary when she won the nomination. That being said the reason she would make a decent Vice President is because she’s a black woman who’s left of American center. That alone would offset people’s claims of Bernie just being another old white men getting in minorities ways. But on the other hand, yang is one of the most likable candidates so having him on a ticket would be very attractive to much of the country. Either way doesn’t matter cause the Vice President doesn't really do anything

Nate Silver is really smart but also biased. When the polls had Hillary winning Iowa last year he told us repeatedly that Bernie has no shot. Now that Bernie is in the lead “anything can happen.”

I trust the data but I try not to read his commentary because he always has a angle.

I feel that. I think Bernie and Yang will over perform in Iowa, while Biden/Pete/Amy/Warren underperform.

Bernie will probably pick someone like Nina turner, but I’m not really sure if that would be better than yang

Terrible VP candidate. Wildly unqualified and doesn’t broaden bernies base in a presidential election

  • Jan 31, 2020

I just want to know why people are obsessed with Bernie picking a VP who doesn't share his vision lol

VP for a president in his 80s might be a big role, perhaps the most important position in the world

  • Jan 31, 2020

I just wanna know why you’re so angered by a man who clearly won’t make it to the nomination and the majority of his rabid support is confined to the internet

    Yang or nina

Yangs platform is nowhere near in line with Bernie, and yangs appeal is confined to the internet and hasn’t shown any ability To resonate with the swing voters in key states (OH PA etc) that he’s tried to pander to. I suspect yangs base is primarily not located in those states. Adds virtually nothing to bernies campaign

Tulsi is a free election win

The democrats really hate tulsi tho, and she has a lot of dirt on her that could sway people against her. I mean personally I think she’s alright but a smear campaign would work a lot better on her than on Bernie or yang

My mom is a mainstream Dem who didn’t vote in the 2008 general when Hillary lost and I feel like she hates Tulsi so much she might do the same if she ended up on the ticket
    Would be risky for sure

Agree but historical standard implies that being a successful businessperson or private citizen can qualify you for president (I disagree) so yang could be considered somewhat qualified based on precedent. Especially considering he worked with presidential administration.
Nina is a public servant without much experience and lost an election where she had a bill clinton endorsement

  • Jan 31, 2020

Nina is too unknown to be Sanders VP, she will most deff be in his cabinet but he will go for a notable women or minority to be his VP

I don’t know if I agree that yang wouldn’t broaden Bernie’s appeal. It’s clear that most of his support is internet based, but that being said most of the country doesn’t really have a problem with him or what he stands for, whereas other candidates and politicians have half of the country hating them. Having yang on a ticket could give some potential trump voters second thoughts

she checks every box for electibility (populist, female, young, attractive, US senator, republicans like her) and has somehow gotten away with never identifying with an economic or tax platform so republicans and moderates can’t call her a socialist and bernies base can’t call her a capitalist .

Also what incentive does the DNC have to smear their VP candidate in a general election

I think he would marginally broaden bernies appeal, but less so than other options, and yangs economic ideas run directly counter to bernies. VAT is a libertarian and laissez faire tax agenda

Republicans can smear her, and she already has a lot of neoliberal democrats against her

Bro libs despise her and think she’s a Russian plant and Assad apologist thanks to constant MSM s***talking.
And republicans need scant evidence to call anyone left of Paul Ryan a socialist. Sure they think she’s cute and less crazy than most Democrats but lol at thinking they don’t still consider her a radical leftist for her views on Medicare for all, abortion, immigration and gun control no matter how many times she goes on Tucker and Breitbart. The “she’s the only Democrat I would vote for” stuff is just posturing to troll the libs. They’re still going to pull the slot for Trump in November. I personally quite like her but even if the neolib MSM swallowed their pride and began calling her (and Bernard) the greatest thing since sliced bread she will not turn out the base or flip a significant number of conservatives.
