I've been thinking about what went wrong for Bernie, and I think the biggest problem is that people's expectations were too hyped from the jump.

A huge reason why he kept it so close and won so many states in 2016 is because Hillary is such a disliked and polarizing political figure (especially among male voters). This race the establishment candidate (Biden) didn't have those same problems, and in fact took votes away from one of Bernie's core bases of support (white rural male voters).

Now as I've said in this thread many times, Biden has huuuuuuuge vulnerabilities in a general election against Trump himself. But IF he can keep his health at around the same level and not make any huge mistakes and no problematic stories about him leak (all sizeable "it's") then I think people (myself included) may have been mistakenly hyping up Trump's re-election odds the same way.

a lot of the general and trumps odds at getting re-elected at this point, regardless of the dem nom (sorta) are s*** like this market crash constantly looming (and the supposed strategies they are and will be taking to combat this seem dubious at best and detrimental at worse) corona/health care and possibly foreign relations etc - all coming to a head before then (or at least, the threat of which becoming painfully clear)

which are big-ifs themselves, but once trump loses his shield (the illusion of market success and stability) and his base feel physically threatened (boomers n virus) s*** will turn south for him rq

despite the fact i think trump likely beats biden 9/10 times, if any of this pops off the dems are free to only cast blame, while trump will literally not be able to talk himself out of it. it’d be such a layup election at that point biden would have to be in a wheelchair to f*** it up

The biggest loser in this whole primary is, somehow, Hillary Clinton.

Turns out the lady is so hated that a crazy old socialist ran a fairly successful insurgent campaign against her, and then the next time around he got his s*** kicked in by a guy who’s obviously suffering from severe cognitive decline. She's just that awful.

In a 1 vs 1 without media doing the equivalent of hundreds of millions of positive ads for the O'Biden Bama democrat, Bernie would crush him. Let the DNC be out of a race for once, Bernie would have also won 2016. You don't seem to get that he is running against corporations, the establishment, people with loads of money. This is not a fair race, you don't seem to get it.

I think he deliberately tries to ignore it so his narrative in his head works out. Its like a mental illness kinda

plus, WHY is s*** like Colorado taking forever - what happened to those thousands of missing votes they found on thumb drives in TX - what is going on

if they cancel the debate bernie need to just ride this out independent, Biden won’t be able to hide for 8 months and Bernie whole thing is grass roots donations anyway, not that it’d ever prolly happen but killing biden and the democratic party en route to november, then pivoting around to take out trump on the economy and healthcare during a crisis on dual fronts -when he weakest most and bernie has went scorched earth as the victor- and then beyoncé pops up and sanders smacks that ass on stage as our first jew president man what a dream that would be
