Taking into consideration to a certain extent isnt the same as saying an artist makes art for somebody tho

Idk, i guess every artist is different uniquely in that sense, but speaking from a place of artistic empathy, its bold to just assume artists make art for others. I dont think we should have that as the basis and shouldnt look at artists like that by default.

They make it and share it and want others to like it
There’s not many who go in saying “I’m doing exactly what I want I’m not doing this to please anyone and I don’t care if you don’t like it” because at the end of the day they’re doing it to make it their job so they can make more art no? There’s songs that they know people probably won’t like and there’s songs they know will be hits.

There’s always compromise when making art that you want to be commercial no matter how insignificant. Yes they’re making it because they want and it’s what they want but they also realize they’re doing it for the fans as well

nah I understand good art takes time, most artists who drop every 2 years are fast food musicians and get forgotten a month after they drop

Theres a difference between wanting an artist to drop and calling them lazy and saying they need to drop more frequently and update us

Its not so much the years as it is the lack of concrete info and teasing. Carti made it seem like the drop was imminent then went silent for months
Some of these artist suck at how they relay info to their fanbase

the avalanches took over 16 years to drop a new album. 4 years ain’t s*** compared to that lol

But you guys are ignoring all the good artists who dropped consistently and talk about a few who took their time over 4 years etc to drop

And we ignore the countless who drop trash all the time
