All of these Memphis rappers do the same thing, rap about the same stuff and sound the same.
and it’s god damn glorious
this old head ass mindset
There is nothing wrong with preserving hip hops core sound. I don’t want this s*** to sound like paramore and nirvana in the future
This year feels like the finale of Hip Hop.
Not a finale imo, but I think this year will be the last time so many rappers from the 2000s-early 2010s drop in a single year

look at every other genre and how it has grown over time, everything is bound to evolve over time. plus, there's still dusthead rappers who rap on 80's beats rapping like sir mix a lot nowadays they just not super poplar
donda weak as hell overall
Loved the album when I saw it in ATL (second show). But yea the album is mid.
Meant to be a live experience IMO.. for example Junya don't hit the same at home. But in that arena it was Life

True

they aren’t super popular because it’s super boring, why people want to listen to dudes make new songs that sound just like songs everyone was making 20 years ago is beyond me
Certified Lover Boy was a really good album. I don't know why people are s***ting on it.
I can't be bothered to keep up with the latest rap anymore. I don't listen to DaBaby, Lil Baby, Jack Harlow etc. I've been out since around that Lil Pump/XXX era I honestly can't sit through an entire project of what these new niggas are making
Yes, I'm dusty

When I say preserve hip hops sound, I don’t mean keeping it dusty. That’s a black/white way to think.
You can preserve what makes hip hop great and still evolve it within its genre. You don’t have to mix with other genres to evolve. That just waters the s*** down
Ray j is responsible for everything we know and love
was thinking about this old vince statement lmao
they aren’t super popular because it’s super boring, why people want to listen to dudes make new songs that sound just like songs everyone was making 20 years ago is beyond me
Again, this is not what I meant by preserving hip hop.
Race My Mind is the only song worth revisiting on CLB
op said unpopular opinion's not bad ones
too many of these new rappers i've seen posted here are just getting carried by beats
i'm almost certain you could take any poster here that can flow decently well and slap some autotune on them and it'd be as good as this ken carson or yeat or whoever else s***
Griselda are ass. They make the same derivative garbage as lil baby and durk except with dust beats
Streaming has completely ruined the consumption of music. This is why I don't have a single streaming service, I download everything I listen to

Damn I ain't seen this one before but you lowkey right
