Decent takes overall but Benny The Butcher can give both WSG and Boldy run for their money tbh
I should elaborate. I got WSG and Boldy over Benny cuz I like their projects better and I think WSG is a better curator / creative force. Benny is a dude who I think bodies freestyles and guest verses and what not but I have not been enjoying his full projects as of late.
even though i think people that complain about streaming still are annoying
2013-2017 was the peak for streaming music
Because half of that time period we were still in the album era where it wasn’t 99.99% of music listeners streaming.
If you go into the lorde album not expecting anything crazy it's pretty enjoyable aside from 1-2 awkward moments. one of my favs of the year to just throw on

Yeah that's totally fair. As far as just rapping goes, Benny is killing it, but projects wise he's falling a bit short. Plugs II still one of my fav Griselda projects though.
“Rap” listeners and artists right now who didn’t grow up listening to rap are trying to force the genre to mirror what they grew up listening to instead (nu metal, emo, screamo, etc.). It’s unhealthy and overall bad for rap.
The cacs and nigga nerds will disagree but yeah
There are no great new artists that will be superstars.
Is it possible to be a superstar in this new age? Feels like the mystique that made past legends is gone now due to accessibility

Yea you summed it up pretty much

Topaz Jones soon come

There will be mine because from 2009-2016 the way to build a fan base was to consistently make great projects.
Now there is really no way to cultivate a fan base because streaming.

Streaming is dope for being convenient but it really got artists dropping really long ass albums to boost numbers

It’s convenient I guess. I’ll trade that for years like any one from 2009-2016 musically.

Likewise bruh lmao I prefer an iPod touch with a f*** ton of space cuz Apple Music is missing so much good stuff
Because half of that time period we were still in the album era where it wasn’t 99.99% of music listeners streaming.
yea the industry and general public was still catching up to everything so it really felt fresh and new
especially felt like a flex in school
nowadays it’s just the norm lol we’ve all become so adjusted to it
long albums have always been a thing not just exclusive to streaming
TPAB is an hour and 20 minutes but called one of the greatest of all time
Both Teezo Touchdown and Yeat are currently the worst memes in hip-hop
i thought that twitter meme about yeat where they replaced the beat to one of his tracks with never meant by american football was his actual music for legit 3-4 months
