18, because I graduated high school and bought my first car. Made new friends and finally lived outside of home

20, because I had time to focus on myself and learn to cook, to exercise, to fix my car, to organize my community

These are all individual milestones based on your age more than the year itself tho These things happen for most people, but at different points in life. Media/entertainment unites people. We all experienced 2015 and 2016 music together, that's why it's a common topic for discussion. You can't say "These things actually matter" when most people probably won't gaf when YOU got your first car
