there have been artists that speak about their dislike of awards shows and not giving it the time of day. but in general we can never really know why an artist doesn't appear. they have busy schedules, travel, families. those artists can and should still opt to be recognized for their work, if they'd like.

and then there's the fact that it may not even be the artist submitting their s***. these awards are for the labels too.
