I think they are trying to get Nicki to go to the awards. I think they gave her best female rapper at BET awards as well for the first time in years.

Most of the non fan voted award shows are more politics and business than anything.

given the fall from grace this awards show, maybe you'd think this would be a great opportunity to nominate some more lowkey acts. maybe people who might ACTUALLY attend the show instead of just handing it to the biggest people who don't even care about this platform anymore.

A "Hip Hop Awards" show shouldn't be on national TV in 2024 tbh. The Source Awards was uncensored and on HBO back in the day. Idk who could fund a Hip Hop Awards at this point, besides a major network, but someone should step up besides BET.

TI and All Def could, maybe stream it on Twitch or Amazon

I think with a Hip Hop Awards in 2024, fans aren't looking for organization, their looking for chaos and moments. The BET formula is long outdated, it's not even about getting every superstar their, it should be about using what you have and creating new stars.

BET definitely isn't the epicenter of Rap like it use to be. That's the Awards show biggest mistake tbh.
